Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions(Phase 2: August 2019 to July 2022)
Introduction
For early identification of and to provide assistance to pre-primary children and their families with welfare needs, the “Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions” (the Pilot Scheme) has been implemented in three phases commencing from February 2019, August 2019 and August 2020 respectively. Upon full implementation, there are a total of 57 social work teams (i.e., 35 full teams and 22 half teams, including 17 teams formed under consortium) involving 41 Non-governmental Organisations participating as service operators, serving 725 pre-primary institutions. According to the original schedule, the Pilot Scheme will be completed in January 2022. It was later approved to extend for six months till July 2022.
Scope of Service
- to provide professional counselling and referral service for children and families
- to organise parenting education groups and talks
- to organise relevant thematic activities to consolidate family relationship
- to provide professional consultations for teaching staff and parents
- to provide crisis management for cases in need
